For seven years, the founding partners of CatEmocions shared important know-how in the creation, management and implementation of public policies for SMEs in the commercial, tourism and industrial sectors, as well as in the research, innovation and university area.

Hence, particularly worthy of note is our work in the diagnosis and creation of strategic proposals and short-, medium- and long-term action in research and innovation for companies and the university. Many of those proposals materialised as agreements with the representatives of the corresponding economic sectors between the end of 2003 and the end of 2010 and now form part of the National Research and Innovation Pact (PNRI).

Later, with a change of partners, management and dissemination of heritage and tourist content creation were strengthened.

We must also point out the development of the Research and Innovation Plan (PRI), which specifies immediate support programmes for SMEs and innovative groups. These programmes establish international connections for thousands of innovative professionals and companies in Catalonia.

In the tourism area, we contributed to four important initiatives:

  1. The Catalan Strategic Tourism Plan 2005-2010, which addresses the regional needs for quality and environmentally sustainable tourism and training, as well as for the creation of an identity-based product.
  2. The Atlas of Tourism in Catalonia, directed by Professor Francesc López Palomeque, which essentially serves as the region’s map of tangible and intangible tourism products and services.
  3. The Catalonia Tangible Tourism Resources Implementation Plan, which sets an example of tourism engineering based on the region’s cultural features, in a broad sense.
  4. The Catalogue of Tourism Icons of Catalonia, which is designed to focus on the region’s marketing and to inspire artistic creation and craftsmanship as a form of quality merchandising.

Based on these initiatives, within the economy of identity and emotions area, the Empremtes de Catalunya (“Impressions of Catalonia”), and Gastroteca (a portal to promote unique and Denomination of Origin products) were developed for the promotion of Catalonia’s craftwork and gastronomy, respectively.

Creativity, a spirit of interactive teamwork and the development of shared projects have led CatEmocions to enjoy a stable network of close and reliable collaborators who help us with projects that require their specific professional qualifications. The CatEmocions team of collaborators primarily covers the areas of communications, the social media, graphic design, computer technologies, tourism management, proofreading, translation, architecture and the environment.
